Papoo's Italian Cuisine & Bar
Description
Please note: this business is now closed; nycgo.com keeps record of many old and closed venues. Established in 1957, Papoo's is the oldest family-run restaurant in the Financial District. Chef-owner Nick Manolakos specializes in rustic Italian dishes featuring generations-old family recipes. Among the pasta dishes is Grandma Rose's ravioli—light pillows of pasta filled with a Genovese-style mixture of veal, pork, spinach and parmigiano, and topped with a creamy Bolognese sauce. Regular customers rave about the Rabbit Gardella alla Caciatora and Trippa Napolitana. Papoo's three dining rooms and spacious bar are in a contemporary multi-level setting and are ideal for business luncheons and meetings as well as celebrations—or a cozy dinner for two.
