Samesa

Out of Business

Description

Samesa is more than a shawarma and smoothie shop. Co-owned by brothers and cookbook authors Eli and Max Sussman, the restaurant features fresh-baked pita stuffed with mind-blowing braised lamb and labneh or organic chicken and tahini. Their Middle Eastern dips are excellent and packaged to go—carrot romesco, avocado hummus and white bean with black cumin are snacks you’ll want perpetually stocked in your fridge. With just a handful of seats in the tiny Williamsburg space, it’s mostly for takeout, but do attack the hot and juicy za’atar-spiced wings immediately.
