Siggy's Good Food

Out of Business

Description

Siggy's wants to protect you from the damaging effects of processed food, GMOs, pesticides, growth hormones, antibiotics and industrially produced meat. Even the coffee is organic. If you can't tolerate gluten, they've got that covered, too. Siggy's takes its manifesto seriously, but the café has a friendly, easygoing charm. The Mediterranean-tinged comfort-food menu includes hummus, three-bean soup with butternut squash and herbs, a wild salmon burger with avocado, and roasted eggplant and tofu lasagna topped with soy cheese. There's a full-service smoothie and juice bar blending up concoctions like the "liver guard," a combination of blueberry, pineapple, banana, milk and milk thistle. A number of medicinal herbs and supplements can be added for $1. Another location of the venue can be found on Elizabeth Street in Manhattan.
