Super Hot Dog

Out of Business

Description

Hot-dog-as-superhero is the theme at this cheerful, clean fast-food shop. The comic strip–plastered space features a mighty hot dog character proclaiming, "One is not enough!!" (They're good, but one is enough for most appetites, actually.) The all-beef dogs are offered with a traditional or whole-wheat bun and a variety of toppings, some standard (chili, fried onion rings), some odd (blueberry jam and chopped green onion; sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, feta cheese and pesto). French fries, soft drinks and a veggie dog round out the menu. The Greenwich Village locale is a hotbed of alehouses and New York University students, so this joint should come in handy for a cheap daytime or late-night nosh.
