Description

The dishes at Tara Kitchen come from founder and executive chef Aneesa Waheed, who fell in love with the country (and her future husband) when visiting Morocco years ago. She then returned home and opened her restaurant in 2012 to help bring the flavors of North Africa to the US. On the menu are sharing plates like a spicy chickpea bowl, marinated olives and zaalouk (eggplant blended with tomatoes and garlic), plus salads and dips. Moroccan entrées like grilled lamb kebab and mixed vegetable couscous sit alongside a selection of chicken, lamb and vegetable tagines. Waheed has also taken comfort foods like cabbage rolls, fish cakes and shepherd’s pie and given them a Moroccan twist. The restaurant is accommodating to vegan diners and guests with food allergies.
