Werkstatt

Description

Austrian schnitzels, housemade bratwurst and wine and beer on tap make Werkstatt feel like a heuriger, a Viennese wine tavern oozing gemütlichkeit (cozy warmth). Austrian Thomas Ferlesch, former owner of Thomas Beisl across the street from BAM, is the chef; he co-owns the place with Robin Wertheimer. While many of the dishes nod to Ferlesch's homeland (liptauer cheese dip with paprika, leberknödel suppe, käsespätzle), he's been in the US long enough to have fallen in love with matzo ball soup, so that's on the menu, too.
