The name Alumnae is a cheeky nod to the fact that co-founders Kari Sigerson and Eliza Axelson-Chidsey matriculated from women’s luxury shoe brand Sigerson Morrison, perhaps most famous for its gladiator sandal and Sex and the City appearances. This new line takes a step away from its predecessor by being more subdued. The shoes are well-crafted, impeccably made and the designs lean classically cool—so much so that even when they get a bit a kooky, they remain tastetful.
