St. Mark’s Bookshop

Out of Business

Description

Opened in 1977, this independent bookstore is one of the last few remaining mom-and-pop shops in the City. It's beloved by artists, students and anyone else hoping to find everything from obscure magazines and gorgeous art books to the usual contemporary and classic lit. In addition to stocking new arrivals and bestsellers, the shop hosts a popular reading series around the corner at the bar Solas, where topics range from "Sex Night" to "A Reading with John Joseph" (of Cro-Mags band fame).
