The white clam chowder at the refined Casino Clam Bar comes dashed with white wine and smoky with bacon—a simple yet elevated pleasure. Partners Joe Carroll (Fette Sau, St. Anselm) and Jeremiah Del Sol (ex-Bar Bolonat) grew up on the Jersey Shore and know their seafood, from cod cheeks to uni-topped tagliatelle. There’s seating around a U-shaped bar. To beat the crowd, arrive at 5pm. Happy hour lasts until 6:30, and brings discounted champagne, oysters, littleneck clams and caviar.
