RestaurantsCobble Hill
Henry Public
Description
Tree-lined Cobble Hill, with its pretty brownstones, is certainly not lacking in charm. Nor is Henry Public, a dipped-in-amber saloon that makes you feel smart just for being there. Book-filled cabinets and portraits of high-minded men like Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Frederick Douglass call forth a desire to discuss politics and forswear lowest-common-denominator chitchat. The compact bill of fare is a throwback to when the hamburger was called a "hamburger sandwich." Old-school cocktails rule here, as does the brilliant turkey-leg sandwich.
