Description

Owners Valerie Guariglia and Christine Miele are veterans of the great New York flea markets, where the two of them honed their impeccable taste. The ever-chic, mid-century modern furniture pieces here are relatively affordable and abundant, filling up two floors with Mad Men–era objects and sofas. Fans of the refined lines of the 1950s way before the recent retro revival, Guariglia and Miele have discerning standards, ensuring that each piece is truly worth buying. Particularly known for its selection of Florence Knoll– and Paul McCobb–designed pieces, the store also now serves as an exhibition space for contemporary artists. Paintings and collages from Paul Sunday, Nancy Olivier and Jody Morlock marked the first presentation; call the store for information on current exhibitions. The works are, of course, available for purchase.
