A Billion Dollar Dream: New York World’s Fair
This event has already occurred
Description
Flushing Meadows Corona Park hosted two world’s fairs, which left an architectural and cultural imprint on New York City and the nation at large. Sixty years after the second, Queens Museum, which served as a home for the fair and holds a collection of materials from it, reassesses that legacy, putting the 1964–65 event into the context of its times—one that considers the civil rights and women’s liberation movements, the fair’s economic impact and America’s standing in the world.
