Description

Conductor Thomas Wilkins leads the orchestra in a performance featuring works by Black composers. The program includes pieces by William Grant Still, jazz great David Baker, contemporary trailblazer Carlos Simon and Haitian-born composer Nathalie Joachim. Joachim’s new cello concerto marks the Philmarmonic debut of Seth Parker Woods. Pre-concert talks will be held one hour before the show inside the Wu Tsai Theater.
