Description

Anonymous Was a Woman (AWAW) is an award that was established in 1996 by philanthropist Susan Unterberg, who saw a need to encourage mid-career female artists. The award was meant to provide workspace, supplies, childcare and anything else these artists may need to help continue their careers. This exhibition celebrates works by AWAW recipients through 2020, highlighting the impact these women have had on the art world.
