Bad Kreyol

The world premiere of Dominique Morisseau’s Bad Kreyol, a co-production by Signature Theatre and Manhattan Theatre Club, is the playwright’s latest exploration of America’s socioeconomic landscape (Skeleton Crew, from her Detroit Project trilogy, got a Tony nomination for best play in 2022). Set in Haiti’s Port-au-Prince, it tells the story of Simone, a first-generation Haitian American, and her cousin Gigi, Haitian born and raised, as they attempt to reconnect in honor of their grandmother’s dying wish.
