The Brooklyn Academy of Music begins the New Year with a bang, starting out with Ionesco Suite, a mash-up of five of playwright Eugene Ionesco’s texts formed into one hilarious dinner party. Following that is a roster of dance, opera, theater, classes, talks and other performances leading into the summer that will be hard to beat. One of the major seasonal highlights is BAM’s DanceAfrica, which takes place in May.
