Battery Dance: The Frozen Zone Performance
This event has already occurred
Description
Lower Manhattan–based dance company Battery Dance used to hold an annual public dance festival at the World Trade Center Plaza from 1982 to 2001. Shortly after the 9/11 attacks, they presented a spontaneous performance entitled Pavilion at the Franklin Street subway station on the cusp of the “frozen zone." In this conversation, 9/11 Museum director Clifford Chanin and Battery Dance executives and musicians reflect on the importance of that performance and what it means almost 25 years later. Following the discussion is a re-staged performance of Pavilion.
