Description

Puerto Rican artist Beatriz Santiago Muñoz creates works in film and video that combine ethnography—or the scientific study of individual customs and cultures—with theater. Through this exhibition at El Museo del Barrio, Santiago Muñoz “captures the ironies of post-colonial conditions in the Caribbean.” Her work features footage mainly from Haiti and Puerto Rico, serving to broadcast her own views of the realities that exist in these locations.
