Beverly Buchanan: Ruins and Rituals
This event has already occurred
Description
The first exhibition in a yearlong project celebrating female contributions to art, Ruins and Rituals includes roughly 200 objects from American artist Beverly Buchanan—who was known for her ability to mix history, location, geology and personal experience to tell a story and defy categorization of her work. Along with a video installation, the late artist’s paintings, sculptures, photographs and drawings help illustrate how she brought political and social awareness to the more formal style of abstraction.
