Description

Artistophanes' comedy, The Birds, was first performed in Athens in 414 BC. The current re-staging makes its American debut as the centerpiece of an eponymous festival this year following a sold-out world premiere at the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus and in Athens. The citywide festival encompasses public programming at American Museum of Natural History, New York Public Library and St. Ann's Warehouse, nature walks at Brooklyn Bridge Park, exhibits and more.
