Black Woodstock: 50th Anniversary

calendar_month

This event has already occurred

Description

Sure, everyone knows of—and many claim to have been at—1969’s Woodstock Festival in upstate New York. That same summer, concerts took place in Harlem’s Mount Morris Park (today’s Marcus Garvey Park), featuring some of the top African-American artists of the day. Talib Kweli and Keyon Harrold are among those who will be on hand to celebrate the event’s half-century anniversary. It’s free and part of SummerStage.
