The Brooklyn Historical Society opens its Dumbo outpost inside the new Empire Stores waterfront mall. The initial exhibition, Shifting Perspectives: Photographs of Brooklyn’s Waterfront, will be followed at year’s end by a long-term show simply called Waterfront that explores the history of the area’s workers, industries, art and social fabric.
