J. Pierpont Morgan’s Library: Building the Bookman’s Paradise
This event has already occurred
Description
The Morgan is best known for its exhibits about the items that J. Pierpont Morgan collected. Building the Bookman's Paradise is about the construction of the building—and the workers behind it—that houses these treasures. The exhibit also introduces Junius S. Morgan II (1867–1932), J. Pierpont Morgan’s nephew and fellow bibliophile, and Belle da Costa Greene (1879–1950), who became Morgan’s librarian in 1905 and the museum's first director. Also featured, of course, are some of the key works that the library was built to display.
