Description

The show, inspired by the true story of Miss Gloria Allen and her work at the Chicago LGBTQ+ center, is about a 67-year-old transgender woman who begins teaching an etiquette class to a diverse group of city kids. Writer Phillip Dawkins, who sat in on Allen’s class, uses the play to address the modern-day challenges of identity, prejudice and poverty faced by her young students.
