Colm Tóibín: Clytemnestra Revisited
May 15, 2017 - Ongoing
Description
Essayist, poet, journalist and novelist Colm Tóibín often wrestles—in writing that is precise and restrained—with issues of identity and the self, particularly within the larger context of his Irish ancestry. The author of critically hailed works Brooklyn, The Blackwater Lightship and The Master, Tóibín has been been shortlisted three times for the Man Booker Prize. This NYPL discussion will center on House of Names, Tóibín’s rewriting of the Greek tragedy of Clytemnestra.
