Coney Island Streets: 1965–1975
This event has already occurred
Description
The Coney Island History Project opens the summer season with an exhibition featuring street photography from Charles Denson. Denson, who grew up in Coney Island and began documenting its transformation during the “urban renewal” period of the late 1960s and early 1970s (before the initiative ran out of money), explores the complexity and history of this area. The show is coupled with an exhibition from poet Amanda Deutch that showcases the natural side of the neighborhood through native plants and poetry.
