Contemporary Muslim Fashions

This exhibit, which showcases more than 80 high-end fashion, streetwear, sportswear and other styles, is the first major museum exploration of the modest fashion industry and the variations within it due, in part, to the local customs of the regions in which Islam is practiced. Further, it examines the role of Muslim women as pioneers of style and their growing role in the global fashion industry.

New video content, unique to the exhibit's presentation at Cooper Hewitt, features interviews and footage of this new generation of young, mostly female and Muslim designers at work.
