Cycling in the City
This event has already occurred
Description
Cycling has long been the preferred method for many to traverse the City, though it can be dangerous and requires a great level of skill and awareness. It’s also created some controversy and divisiveness as Citi Bike stands have popped up and given more of the City’s already-cramped streets over to two-wheeled vehicles. The Museum of the City of New York traces the history of bicycles in the City, from a time when they were leisure vehicles to their more popular current role as a commuting vehicle, while also exploring the importance of this transportation method as we are faced with climate change, resource limitations and growing populations.
