Description
New York–based multidisciplinary artist Derrick Adams creates visually intriguing paper-based collage pieces and large-scale sculptures, in addition to works in video, performance and sound. In his MAD Museum exhibition, Adams’ works are inspired by the plight of black American travelers in the middle of the 20th century, who relied upon a book published during the Jim Crow era entitled The Negro Motorist Green Book, which identified safe places for black people during a time of discrimination and uncertainty.
