Description
As part of the continuing celebration of Public Art Fund's 40th anniversary, Anish Kapoor will bring a whirlpool to Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pier 1. This piece was originally conceived as a smaller indoor piece for India’s Kochi-Muziris biennale (2014-15), and subsequently enlarged for the artist's solo exhibit at Versailles (2015). This is Descension's first North American presentation and Kapoor's first large, outdoor sculpture in New York since his Sky Mirror was at Rockefeller Center in 2006.
