Tin Pan Alley: Landmark Designation Anniversary

calendar_month

Dec 9, 2025

Description

Celebrate the anniversary of Tin Pan Alley's designation as the Birthplace of American Popular Music with a special holiday concert in Madison Square Park. Enjoy Tin Pan Alley Holiday Songs featuring the Kidwell Sisters at the park’s annual holiday tree lighting, alongside performances by the New York Life Chorus. This free, festive event honors Tin Pan Alley’s legacy, as well as the historic 1912 tradition of New York’s first public tree lighting, with live music, photo ops and warm seasonal beverages. It is put on by the Tin Pan Alley American Popular Music Project and Madison Square Park Conservancy.
