Description
Family patriarch Seabury Tredwill died at home in 1865. This exhibit explores mid-nineteenth century mourning customs and allows visitors to pay their respects at Seabury's deathbed or joining the mourning in the parlour. Items on display include family photographs, mourning attire and accessories including a black net veil and two 1870s mourning gowns.
