Eloise at the Museum

Description

Children’s book character Eloise—who is known for her residence in a “room on the tippy-top floor” of the Plaza Hotel—is an American icon, having started her journey in a series of 1950s books that saw her also traveling to Paris and Moscow. The character spawned television and movie adaptations, and has been the subject of various NYC museum exhibitions. This time around, the New-York Historical Society presents original manuscripts, sketchbooks, photographs, dolls and toys—many of which are originals from Eloise illustrator Hilary Knight. The museum will also provide family programming throughout the summer to coincide with the exhibition.
