En el Nombre de Salomé (In the Name of Salomé) is a play based on Julia Alvarez’s fictional novel about real-life poet Salomé Ureña de Henríquez—a woman born during turbulent political times in the Dominican Republic who became a legend for her patriotic poems and her influence on women’s education in her country. The play also centers around Salomé’s daughter, Camila, who was deeply influenced by her mother’s work.
