Field Notes: Seed Stories and the Power of Plants
This event has already occurred
Description
Explore how art, video, photographs and curated plants showcase not only the scientific impact of collecting plant life, but the artistic and cultural side of it too. Visitors can learn about seed histories from Hudson Valley Seed Company, watch documentary videos of Staten Island gardeners by Jay Weichun, check out photograms of local flora by Gale Wisdom and view museum botanical specimens selected by the Greenbelt Native Plant Center. High-powered microscopes allow visitors to see plants up close, and they can even put their hands in a seed mass or design their own seed packet too.
