Garry Winogrand: Color
This event has already occurred
Description
American street photographer Garry Winogrand was well known for his black-and-white photographs from the mid-20th century that depicted US life and its social issues. What many didn’t know was that the artist had quite a number of color photographs that were rarely displayed. The Brooklyn Museum presents this first-ever exhibition of Winogrand’s almost forgotten color shots, featuring an installation of slideshows with more than 400 rare and never-before-seen photographs, many dating back to the 1950s and ’60s.
