Description
Fraunces Tavern is the oldest bar in New York City, dating back to 1762, and it served as a meeting place for some of the founding fathers and for decisions that would shape the United States government. This permanent exhibition examines the period between the end of the American Revolution and the ratification of the constitution (1785–1788), when the Department of Foreign Affairs and War, Congress of the Confederation and Board of Treasury all conducted business on the grounds.
