Description
Playwright Tori Sampson’s play is a contemporary take on an old West African fable. The setting is the village of Affreakah-Amirrorkah, and beautiful girl Akim has it all—but her jealous classmates will do anything to stop her from rising to the top. The 2018 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize finalist play is filled with roaring live music and dance, with direction from Leah C. Gardiner.
