Description

InHarlem, a new initiative launched in August 2016, allows the Studio Museum to extend its programming beyond the museum's walls. For this installment, the museum presents two new projects. Firelei Báez: Joy Out of Fire features portraits that celebrate notable black female artists, activists, authors, educators, entertainers and public officials from the United States and the Caribbean. This exhibition is on display May 1 to September 29 at the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center. Maren Hasssinger: Monuments opens in June and includes eight site-specific sculptures scattered around Marcus Garvey Park, which will be on display for about one year.
