Description
In honor of the Irving Penn Centennial, this retrospective covers nearly the entirety of the artist's seventy year career owing to a gift of photographs from the Irving Penn Foundation that represent every period of his career. These one hundred and fifty images form the exhibit's core, and include fashion studies of Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn, the artist's wife; Quechua children in Cuzco, Peru; and portraits of people from urban laborers and tribesmen in New Guinea to Truman Capote, Picasso, and Ingmar Bergman.
