Judy Chicago: Herstory
This event has already occurred
Description
Noted feminist artist Judy Chicago gets a retrospective that looks at her impact and influence in numerous 20th- century movements. Over three floors, decades’ worth of her work are on display—and in one section of the show, contextualized by placement with the work of women artists from various centuries. Highlights include Rainbow Pickett (1965), originally displayed at her first solo show in LA and then at the Jewish Museum’s Primary Structures exhibition, and documentation of Womanhouse, a 1972 installation staged in an abandoned Hollywood mansion by Chicago’s and Miriam Schapiro’s Feminist Art Program.
