This event has already occurred
Description
Artwork from ancient to modern times in Kyoto help to tell the history of the Japanese city’s evolving culture, politics and social structure. This exhibition highlights the region’s many decorative arts, with more than 150 objects featured in two rotations, the majority of which were culled directly from the Met’s collection. Paintings, ceramics, lacquers, metalwork and textiles are on display. Highlights include a 14th-century suit of armor and a rare 18th-century atsuita Noh robe.
