Description
This exhibit serves as the visual centerpiece to the Leonard Bernstein centennial. It includes more than 150 photos, personal items, papers, scores, costumes and films that cover the long career of the man considered to be America's greatest classical composer and conductor. Among the highlights are: Bernstein's conductor baton, his first childhood piano, handwritten score sheets for songs from West Side Story and the desk at which he sat to compose it.
