Description

LES Yearbook: A Living Archive at Abrons Arts Center highlights the powerful role of photography in preserving community memory. Initiated by photographer Destiny Mata, the exhibit documents the lives of local public housing residents, bringing together Mata’s photographs with images from the personal archives of LES residents Camille Napoleon, Promise Jimenez, Cheryl Kirwan, Aicha Cherif and TC Rosario, offering a collective portrait of the Lower East Side as told by its own community.
