Lou Reed: Caught Between the Twisted Stars
This event has already occurred
Description
The library puts on its first exhibit drawn from the extensive archives of the consummate New York City musician. Find scribbled lyrics, concert footage, artwor, letters and photographs through the years, plus a special listening room devoted to some of his recordings. Though his output included glam, doo-wop, street-poetry stylings and straight-ahead rock, the record that takes center stage in that installation is the extremely challenging Metal Machine Music. Reed ran with a downtown arty crowd, and those collaborators, such as Andy Warhol, Jim Carroll and Laurie Anderson, whom he married in later life, show up in the displays.
