South Asian artists, especially contemporary ones, are relatively underrepresented in American museum shows. This exhibit explores the work of nineteen contemporary artists from the South Asian diaspora including Jaishri Abichandani, Anila Quayyum Agha, Chitra Ganesh, Naeem Mohaiemen, Kanishka Raja, Tenzing Rigdol, Shahzia Sikander, Jaret Vadera, and Palden Weinreb. Among the themes explored are migration, gender and race.
