Made in New York City: The Business of Folk Art
This event has already occurred
Description
Although folk art is often considered rural in nature, the genre has flourished in New York City since the 18th century. Many objects associated with the rural heartland were manufactured in New York City by artists who drew on the traditions and influence of self-taught artists around the world. This exhibit, in celebration of the American Folk Art Museum's anniversary, comprises 100 works of art that tell the story of New York from two angles: "The Art of Business" and "The Business of Art."
