Mastering the Metropolis: New York and Zoning, 1916-2016
This event has already occurred
Description
The Zoning Resolution of 1916 shaped New York City-literally. This law, the first of its kind in America, governs the height, width and location of New York's building and industry. Without it, we'd be without the "setback" skyscraper, the Theater District and more. This exhibit explores the changing face of the city over the law's first hundred years, including the zoning rules and debates it has spawned.
