This event has already occurred
Description
Between 1930 and 1960, European émigrés, including Bauhaus artists forced out of Nazi Germany, had a profound impact on American print media. This exhibit explores how Alexey Brodovitch and Alexander Liberman, the art directors of Harper's Bazaar and Vogue, respectively, used photography, graphic design and popular magazines to shape American visual culture. Works by Richard Avedon, Lillian Bassman, Margaret Bourke-White, Robert Frank and Gordon Parks are among those on display.
