Description
The early 1960s had a major impact on the City’s—and world’s—arts and cultural scene. Explore more than 150 works of art that were produced or exhibited in the City during the three-year span of the exhibit’s title. That period includes Alan Solomon’s tenure as director at the Jewish Museum, which included the first-ever museum retrospectives of Robert Rauschenberg (1963) and Jasper Johns (1964). Other artists featured include Diane Arbus, Donald Judd, Yayoi Kusama, Louise Nevelson, Faith Ringgold and Andy Warhol.
